WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD. Overall, I really liked B Gata H Kei Episode 2. I like the mixture of humor and drama, and there’s plenty of both to go around. That’s definitely something appealing in a show when there are mixtures of humorous moments for fun and drama moments for suspense and tension. This is unfolding into what feels like a great show.

As for the humor, it’s definitely excellent and there was tons of it. One of the problems with some comedy shows is they either A: don’t have enough humor, B: the humor is often not great, or C: both. So far, this show doesn’t seem to have these problems as the humor’s both plentiful and hilarious. The humor’s also doing a good job exposing character’s personalities and their traits and is thus helping with character development.

Much of the humor relies heavily on Yamada’s craziness and pervertedness. Given that Yamada is so insane, this opens up many avenues for humor that wouldn’t be possible with an ordinary individual. The humor also relies on sexual humor and fan service. Personally, I love fan service and sexual humor, so I’m enjoying it. Still, I can see why some people might not care for it.

As for the drama and romance, there are a number of takeaways from B Gata H Kei Episode 2. For one, we are really getting to see just how insecure Yamada is. Yamada’s quest to seduce Kosuda may be more difficult than it was previously portrayed as she has competition for him. Though Yamada claims she is just using Kosuda for sex, it’s clear she actually has genuine feelings for him. It’s also obvious that Yamada and Kosuda are slowly bonding in their relationship. They’re going through some growing pains, such as when Yamada got frustrated at Kosuda and when Yamada was worried about Miyano. So far, this slow bonding is great and is very emotional and romantic. The show’s definitely doing a good job showcasing character’s emotions and feelings.

Looking at Miyano, she seems like a very fun character. She ‘s obviously a klutz. In addition, she’s very friendly and nervous around others. Miyano also makes things more interesting and dramatic given her relationship with Kosuda. Hopefully we’ll see more of her as the show goes on.

We also found out that Kosuda’s sister seems to be quite weird herself. For instance, Kazukie likes to walk around naked in their home while other people are around. This makes me wonder just how perverted Kazukie is. Clearly, Kazukie’s a very fun supporting character and she’s definitely making the show more enjoyable. I’m looking forward for the next episode.
